Consumer Class Action

Obtained confidential settlement in putative class action claim arising out of Hartford insurance company’s partial denial of accidental death and dismemberment policy claim.  Wittwer v. Hartford, Court File No. C2-03-60605,

Brought class claim against Chrysler motor company for placing illegal conditions on its obligations to honor its 7/70 warranties.  Although the case was not successful, as a business practice Chrysler no longer requires that consumers pay transfer fees in order to acquire the remainder of the original warranties.   Haas v. DaimlerChrysler Corp., 611 N.W.2d 382 (Minn. Ct. App. 2000) (consumer breach of warranty claim under Uniform Commercial Code).
